Walnut Taco "Meat"

This was on the most popular wrap in my restaurant - the Mexican Madness! It was the number one selling item on our entire menu. It's honestly ridiculously easy to make.

Walnut taco meat is raw, oil free, wholesome and totally delicious!! We love to use in on our tacos, nachos, wraps, casseroles - anything! It's all good. The best part though is how incredibly simple it is to make.



3 cups walnuts soaked for a few hours (overnight is preferable) or soaked in hot water for 20 minutes

1.5 TBSP tamari

2 tsp cumin

2 tsp chili powder

1 tsp garlic


Drain the walnuts and place them in a food processor along with all the other ingredients.

Pulse until a nice texture is attained. Don't let it process for too long or you'll end up with walnut taco butter lol. It doesn't take long - maybe a couple pulses.
